Is this big enough for anything to live in there, say a newt or salamander? I want to get another pet, and I've found someone who might be willing to give me this size vivarium for free, would it be worth to get the tank anyway, just incase I need to seperate any pets I get in the future?

Freebie tank/viv is always worth getting.
You could possibly have a pair of smallish newts in something that size, although you'd have to prepare it fairly well in advance to get it setup how you want it as being that small could be awkward to get water etc right.
