i was in a local pet shop today and spotted some fire bellied newts and fell in love with them, but i thought i'd read up about them first and was wondering if i could put them in my community tank that consists of neons, zebra danio's, silver shark, shrimp, sword tails and a sail fin plec... i'd obviously would have to bring the temperature down slightly to accomodate the newts but i can't find anything about them being in a tank with fish... please help
thanks

I wouldn't keep them together, just because there's always a chance something might be eaten or disease would be passed on. Newts should also have a little bit of land space, so don't thrive in a 100% aquatic set up.

Plus the temperatures are important, so either the fish or newts will be kept at a temp that's not ideal.

Fire bellies don't need a massive enclosure, so I would just invest in a cheap fish tank and house seperately.
